Managing people, we may want them to behave just as we imagine.
We may push them, tell them, and force them to change.
It is a sign. We should start by changing ourselves.
There are better tactics to leverage strengths and intrinsic motivation.
Try to change the system, environment, and structure. Not the people.
To do a short screen detox during the walk. Leave a mobile phone at home.
To stop eating sweets at 11 pm. Do not keep them at home.
To see shy people talking. Start with silent brainstorming or split into groups.
To let others answer the question. Do not break the silence.
To collaborate on Miro during a Zoom meeting. Do not share the screen.
To stop scrolling phone in bed. Leave the phone in the kitchen.
To encourage a team to take notes. Create a "Meeting Notes" folder.
To release on the last day of the Sprint. Do not finish Sprints on Fridays.
To let people disconnect on the weekends. Do not do Reviews on Mondays.
